Water filter pitchers help remove chlorine, metals, and other impurities from tap water, improving taste and quality. To keep your water fresh and clean, it’s important to replace the filter regularly.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Remove the Old Filter
Take off the pitcher lid and remove the reservoir (if applicable). Then pull out the used filter from its housing. Discard the old filter according to the manufacturer's disposal guidelines.
Step 2: Wash the Pitcher and Reservoir
Before inserting the new filter, rinse the pitcher and reservoir with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
Step 3: Soak or Rinse the New Filter (If Required)
Some filters need to be soaked in cold water for about 15 minutes before use; others just need a quick rinse. Follow the instructions on the new filter’s packaging.
Step 4: Insert the New Filter
Place the new filter into the reservoir or filter housing. Push down until it’s securely in place—some may click or lock into position.
Step 5: Fill the Reservoir with Cold Tap Water
Pour cold tap water into the top reservoir. Let the water flow through the new filter. For best results, discard the first 1–2 pitchers of filtered water to flush out any loose carbon particles.
Step 6: Replace the Lid and Use as Normal
Once flushed, your pitcher is ready to use! Reattach the lid and store the pitcher in the refrigerator or on the counter, depending on your preference.
